Robert D. "Bobby" Douglas

Robert D. "Bobby" Douglas, 63, of Cordova passed away peacefully in the presence of family on May 6, 2010. Prior to working for Shelby County Code Enforcement for the last 3 years, he was a General Contractor for 30+ years. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cathy Douglas. He is also survived by his three daughters, Lisa Howell (Jimmy), Ashley Donovan (Sean) and Deanne Helvering (Shane); a son, Manley Douglas (Carrie); 5 grandchildren, Joey, Parker, Ava, Andrew and Lily; his mother, Margaret "Billie" Douglas; a sister, Marca Lee Simpson (Neil); a brother, Jimmy Douglas (Bobbie Jean); and was preceded in death by his father, James N. "Jim" Douglas, Sr. He was a graduate of Kingsbury High School and Memphis State University. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of First Assembly of God. The visitation will be held Monday May 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a memorial service will be Tuesday May 11 at 2 p.m. both at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway. Interment will be held at Memphis Memory Gardens at 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Road following the memorial service. Memorials may be made to Union Mission, Memphis, TN.
