

ROBERT MARTIN “Marty” POLLAN, JR., 35, of Germantown, Tennessee passed away on July 24, 2012 after battling complications with Diabetes. Marty attended many schools in his lifetime and learned from many “special” teachers and principals in Shelby County who he loved dearly. He accepted Jesus in his heart at an early age while attending Graceland Baptist Church. His faith continued to grow at Central, Germantown Baptist and Hope Church along with so many family and friends who were a Christian example to his life. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to family, friends and Doctors who had an impact on his “special” life. His favorite Bible Verse was 1 Peter 5:7. Marty is survived by his parents, Robert Martin “Bobby” Pollan Sr. and Vinita W. Pollan; two sisters, Allison Sehnert (Sam) and Amy Barrick (John); one nephew John Mason Barrick who he was so proud to be his uncle; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Wheeler and Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Alease Schmidt. He was so blessed to have many aunts, uncles and cousins in his life as well. Marty was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Ronald Polland, Sr.; uncle Jim and Aunt Vetra along with great-grandmothers, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be Friday, July 27 from 12-2 p.m. with services following at 2 p.m.. all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Rd. The family asks that any memorial contributions be made in Marty’s name to Gracewood Baptist in Southaven, MS (formerly Graceland Baptist), The Diabetes Association or NAMI of Memphis.
