Ruth Olander Hastings

Ruth Olander Hastings, age 100, of Cordova passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at her residence. Wife of the late Rev. Robert Hastings, she was actively involved with his ministries at First Evangelical Church, New Life Presbyterian Church and Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hastings was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her son, J. Alan Hastings (Barbara) of Columbia, MD; daughters, Elizabeth H. DiPietri (Joseph) of Sullivan, MO, Deborah H. Cummings of Memphis and Jeannie H. Stoecker (Bob) of Cordova; grandchildren, Andrew Hastings, Tony DiPietri, Nick DiPietri, Lizzy Cummings, Rossmon Stoecker (Niki), Gregory Stoecker (Merideth) and Gwenyth Stoecker; and great grandchild, Kayleigh DiPietri. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2014 at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church, 1665 South Germantown Rd. Germantown, TN 38138. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Covenant College, 14049 Scenic highway, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750 or Covenant Theological Seminary, 12330 Conway Road, St. Louis, MO 63141.
