Ruth Palmer Stewart, 94, of Memphis, passed away on April 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband William Allen Stewart and a grandson Wayne Davidson. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her four daughters; Peggy Davidson, Dixie Smith, Deborah Brigman and Billee Lambe, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stewart was very proud to say she had five living generations of family. She did lots of traveling all over the U.S. and the world. She was very involved in many different philanthropic organizations such as the Ladies Auxiliary, being a PTA Lifetime Member, Apron Strings, Super Seniors, member on the Advisory Board for the U.S. Post Office, and a member of Colonial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 21 from 1-3pm with the funeral starting at 3pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
