As my grief came full circle today I wanted to give you some parting words from the physical side.

Mother….my protector,
Mother….my advisor,
Mother….my gossip buddy,
Mother….my arbitrator,
Mother….my caregiver,
Mother….my counselor,
Mother….my confidant,
Mother….my friend,
Mother….my MOM

Mom, it has been one year ago today that you departed this earth and I still miss you every waking moment.  You were taken from us way too early.  There were still so many things I needed to share with you. My only comfort was trusting that Lori was waiting at Heavens gate to greet you and guide you through the portal of everlasting salvation.  I know you both are up in Heaven having a glass of wine, laughing and carrying on as you always did.

Mom, you were always there for me no matter what the circumstances, and yes, there were many circumstances throughout our lives.  You were always there to advise and comfort me and put things in a better light.  I miss you more than words can describe and my only consolation is my brief conversations I still have with you…….even though you don't verbally respond.

A year has passed.  Not a day goes by in which my thoughts don't turn to Mom.  It is in these thoughts I keep her alive.  Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry; but in the end, she still brings a smile to my face and a comfort to my heart.

I know I will always miss her.  While that seemed such a burden a year ago, it is only now that I understand missing her is not something with which I am laden, but a reminder of how much she means to me.  

I truly cherish every moment she was in my life.  However, I will always have her with me, in my heart, as I continue my journey in this life.

I love you, Mom.

Mom was my idol and I looked up to her all of my life.  Mom fought a tough battle with cancer and never complained, not even once. She was such a strong woman who never gave up the fight. Mom loved life. Simple as that...... She loved to be surrounded by friends and family. She never met a stranger and lived her life to the fullest.  Mom was my  friend, protector, nurturer, mentor, ally, my hero, my rock. She was my everything. She was my mother, but also my best friend and I will miss her every day for as long as I live.

I was very blessed to have known such a wonderful person.  Aunt Sharon will be forever remembered and forever missed!  I am very fortunate that I have nothing but wonderful memories of her and that my children were able to have met her.  My heart goes out to my father and all of Sharon's family!

I will always hold a special place in my heart for you!  I Love You So Much!

Neil and Family I'm so sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. She was a special person, we both grew up in Worden as kids but lost touch over the years. I was so fortunate to have visited with her  this past Sept. at Keith and Gail's home. Sharon was still the beautiful person I remembered her to be with that big smile and warm heart. We had a great time talking about old times and I feel so blessed to have had that time with her. My prayers are with you and your family.

Sharon was a wonderful and special person and I feel blessed to have known her for a brief few years.  She was my best friend in High School and thereafter.  I loved her like a sister and she will always be in my memories.  When I moved from Worden, we kept in touch through our letters.  I still have eight of those letters and my daughter carries Sharon's first name.  I'm sorry Neil that we did not have the opportunity to meet, but I know that you are a special person to have shared your life with Sharon.  With my deepest sympathy and sincerity.

I am sorry to hear of Sharon's death. I remember when you guys first met some 48 or so years ago.I still have the cuff licks that you gave me. Thank you for giving me the honor of being in your wedding.  It was so good to see you at the Worden High School Reunion. Sharon, a person you always wanted to spend some time with, talking about the good times in life. Sharon was a Christian wife, mother and grandmother that seemed to look at the bright side of life, never complained, even when she was faced with great challenges. So sorry Sharon was taken when she was still so full of love and life. Glad I had an opportunity to visit and spend time with her during the last few months.  I'll treasure this time together. I have so many memories of us growing up and all the fun we had, like sliding down the stairs on waxed paper, later forgetting we had waxed the steps, then falling down them, causing Aunt Mick to go into a panic that we were hurt. Even though I am three years older than Sharon, she had to walk me home after dark, through Grandma Neuhaus's yard (with all the bushes that hid monsters in them) and saw me safely home.  And we had a special time when we were just little monsters and annoyed her mother, who finally chased us with a fly swatter all through the house.  I spent so many nights at her house, and we had to listen to The Squeaking Door radio show which scared us silly, but we would not miss it.  Yes, she was very special, like a sister to me, and I know she will be flitting around Heaven, rekindling all the family ties, as there are so many close family members there.  God bless you Neil, Stephanie, Todd and Eric.  We all loved her.

 I am very blessed to have known such a kind, careing, giving, strong woman.  I'll miss that sweet smile and the twinkle of mischief in her eyes when she got tickled.  I'm lucky to have fond memories of our trip to Alaska and to her and Neil's lakehouse, with Keith and Gail. Our girl days together were such fun.  Watch over your wonderful family, sweet angel.   We will see each other again.

Just a light hearted remembrance that Sharon and I enjoyed so very much and our husbands laughed about. Together we  would always look at the clouds and come up with a descripton of what we saw. It might be a horse or a car or a face of some sort or wild animal . That was always fun and got many laughs and comments (like are you two crazy)I will miss having her to view the clouds but now I shall see her in them. Sharon was not only a wonderful person she was a dear friend,sister, and sister-in-law. Keith and I loved her very much,we had so much fun together just hangin out and so many wonderful vacations . We will cherish all the memories. Sharon was beautiful inside and out, a true friend, I feel blessed that I could call her sister-in-law but felt like she was a sister. Sharon was not only my sister-in-law but was also a precious friend.  We did not get to visit as much as I would have liked to, but when we did it was a good and pleasant experience.  After my cancer surgery Sharon came to Shreveport and cared for me when I couldn't take of myself and I will never forget how lovingly she did this and will never forget this time in my life.      We had many good times even though we would often have to take Sharon to the hospital to treat another one of her injuries.  Sharon and I could not have been any closer had she been my blood sister.  I will truly miss Sharon, but what gives me peace is knowing I will be able to be with her again soon.  This will be a good reunion when we all get together for a happy eternity.  The only thing I regret is that I wish I could have looked Sharon in the eye and told her what she meant to me, face to face.

I was so sad to hear of Sharon's passing.  We were best friends growing up.  We had so much fun together.  We even flew to New York (our first plane ride) and had a great time.

I know you all will miss her very much.  Will pray for your comfort.

Tonight I flew as fast as I could to be with Grandma Young. It turns out she met me halfway. She was lacing up her angel wings before I landed. 

Now, last leg... Connecting flight. The night flight I've taken 100 times has never been so bright. The landscape through teary eyes looks like a blur. Appropriate, that's what reality feels like at this exact moment. 

Memories rush,  but none too clear. They come across as sensations more than anything. Warmth of love, touch of nurturing hands, smell of Grandma's Christmas M&M cookies... 

Grandma Young was a great wife, mother, grandmother, (and even though they never met) the best great-grandmother Eric Edward Young II will ever have. 

I love you Grandma, and always will.

Words cannot express my sorrow adequately.  Sharon was such a beautiful light, hope and faith to all of us.  I will treasure the time I was able to spend with her in God's house.

May God give you comfort and peace during this time.

I think the first time that I saw her, I fell in love with her, although I didn't really know it at the time.  She was a saucy and beautiful lady and I just wanted to see her more.  I talked her into becoming my wife and she has been my partner, lover and friend for forty-eight and a half years.  Losing her has been devastating to me.  I was supposed to go first, not her.  She was the backbone of our family, not me.  I love her so and will miss her until I die.

Sharon was my life partner and friend for 48 years.  We had three great children who at times were a hand full, at many more times made us very happy and who all turned out to be fine upstanding individuals.  There is also a fine group of Grand Children and one Great Grandson on the way.  Sharon and I considered ourselves as extremely blessed.  I do love her so and I will miss her until the day that I die.

Sharon was one of the finest people I have ever known and I will miss her so very much. She was a true friend and always there for anyone that needed her. I have no doubt that she walks with God today , free from pain and suffering. Keller and I are both so grateful to have had the privilege of knowing and loving her all these years and please know Neil and family that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
