Virgil Leroy “Roy” Wells,78, passed away suddenly on Saturday September 16, 2017 in Covington, TN. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda Wells, his son Terry Clenney (Katie), and his daughter Kristy Katz (Joel). He was a grandfather to Matthew Dalton, Molly Dalton, and Hudson Clenney. He is also survived by his sisters, Darlene (Bob) Watkins and Pam Johnson (Steve). Roy was born on August 18, 1939 in Denver, CO to the late Eleanor “Mary” Decoopman Nelson and Virgil H. Wells. He was a life-long small business owner, avid golfer, and dedicated Denver Broncos fan. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 19, 2017 from 6-8pm, with a funeral service on Wednesday September 20, 2017, beginning at 2pm, all at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Rd Bartlett, TN 38133. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorial contributions be made in the name of “Roy Wells”, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
