Virginia Ramelle Bradford, age 101, of Cordova, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Shelby Gardens Assisted Living Facility. She was affectionally known as "Mimi" by her family. Virginia was born November 24, 1920 to the Late Melvin and Mamie Vinson in Love, MS. She enjoyed cooking and was a huge fan of Memphis State basketball.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. Bradford, her daughters; Joye B. Hartzog and Paula Nunez, her 6 siblings and her great great grandson, Josiah Whiddon.
She is survived her daughter, Peggy Whiddon (Bob), and her sister, Pat Thomas, her grandchildren; Richard Whiddon, Robin W. Wilkinson, Jennifer Zufall and Christian Philpps, 6 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren and her nephew, David Birmingham.
Virginia was always involved in her church. She was a member of National Avenue Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She sang in the choir at Colonial Baptist Church and also taught Sunday school there for 42 years. Virginia most recently became a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.
A graveside service for Virginia will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at11:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to the Memphis Union Mission or a charity of your choice.
