

Harold attended Bartlett High School and joined the Navy on July 30, 1963. He trained in San Diego, CA, and served aboard the USS Colonial in the Vietnam War as a Motorboat Operator, ranked a BM4. He received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam), the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. On July 29, 1967, he was honorably discharged from duty and transferred to the Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland, where he served until July 29, 1969.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents Homer D and Vera Bell Bass Jones.
Harold Jerome Jones is survived by his sister, Joyce Jones Steglich and husband Robert Louie Steglich of Bartlett and brother, Gayle H. Jones and wife Margaret Marek Jones of Bartlett.
Nieces and nephews include Robert Wayne and Evelyn Steglich of Holland, TX, Melanie and Ray Roberts of Jackson, MI, Rhonda and Andy Snyder of Round Rock, TX, Kevin and Windy Steglich of Holland, TX, David and Kristy Jones of Lubbock, TX, Stephen and Kim Jones of Arlington, TX, Matt and Nicole Jones of Arlington, TX, Keith and Melissa Krause of The Woodlands, TX and Kevin Krause of Austin, TX and 24 great nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his former wife, Violet Jones of Colorado Springs, Co., and her children Debbie and Rick Medina, Valerie and Aaron Fish and Tammy Wann and their children.
