Bartonville – David E. Manz, 81, of Bartonville, passed away at 12:28 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2020 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on February 17, 1939 in Peoria, a son of Emil and Dorothy (Arrenholz) Manz. He married Mildred “Millie” Brandhorst on August 26, 1961 in Bartonville. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2006 in Peoria.
David is survived by his two brothers, Michael (Jackie) Manz of East Peoria and Richard (Kathy) Manz of Pekin; three nieces; and three nephews.
David was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1957 to 1961.
He last worked as a floral designer for Becks Florist, retiring in 2017. He co-owned and operated The Village Flower Shop in Bartonville with his wife for many years. David also had worked as an interior designer for both Weberg’s Interiors and Oakwood Interiors. He also loved to paint landscapes. He was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bartonville.
David’s funeral service will be private. Rev. Kara L. Wiechmann will officiate. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Interment will take place in Smithville Cemetery in rural Hanna City.
