

Dennis “Denny” Hagerdorn of Bartonville, Illinois, born of March 17,1949 in Litchfield, Illinois died unexpectedly on August 1, 2023, after a vibrant and full life of 74 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, PJ (Jacobs) Hagerdorn.
Denny is also survived by his two sons, Lane Hagerdorn of Phoenix Arizona, and Dennis (Jake) Hagerdorn of Dunlap, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle “Sissy” Hagerdorn.
Denny was the eldest son of the late Lee G. and J. Doris (Barringer) Hagerdorn, both of Bartonville, Illinois.
Denny was also preceded in death by his middle brother, Martin Hagerdorn, and survived by his youngest brother, Tomm Hagerdorn of Bartonville, Illinois. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many more loving relatives and friends.
Dennis loved cars. Loved learning about them, driving them, reliving tales of them, and of course, selling them. He retired from automotive sales as an awarded and highly respected salesman of Toyotas and Volvos. Prior to that he held roles in pharmaceutical manufacturing, Caterpillar assembly line manufacturing, and the US Army where he served in Germany after being drafted during the Vietnam War.
A family man who cherished every moment with those he loved, Denny will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, warm hugs, and infectious smile. A 2nd generation well-known Notary Public, Dennis was known for his selfless demeanor and ability to find joy in even the toughest of times – and his love for raising a glass to toast great friends, his cherished family, and new acquaintances along the way.
Please join the family for the Celebration of Denny’s life on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 from 2pm – 6pm at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Hall on 4518 S. Lafayette Ave in Bartonville, Illinois.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
