

He was born on April 22, 1956 in Peoria, IL to Joseph N. and Loretta A. (Loser Wayne) McClain. He married Kathe Foste on July 8, 1978 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by one niece.
Surviving are his parents: Joseph and Loretta McClain of Peoria; three children: Erin (Tim) Barnett and Megan (Tom) Brakebill both of Cherokee Village, AR and Matthew (Erika) McClain of Osceola, AR; two brothers: Michael (Sue) McClain of Mapleton and Jim McClain of Bellevue; two sisters: Shelly (James) Ramey of Trivoli and Shawna (James) Smithers of Peoria; six grandchildren: Sam, Hunter, Max, Ian, Kaleigh and Tim; and six nieces and nephews.
He worked for several years a Metallurgist Tech for Caterpillar Inc. and was a member of the Laborer’s Union Local 165 for 35 years. He was a former member of the St. John’s Catholic Church where he attended school and served as an Alter Boy. He was member of the 1974 graduating Class at Limestone Community High School and had attended Illinois Central College after Graduation.
Doug will be remembered for his big heart and for his love of music, playing his guitar and hunting.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Terry Cassidy will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.
