

Colleen Pitzer arrived in this world on the sunny day of March 6, 1927 and passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Lutheran Hillside Village at the age of 98. She was born in Hanna City, IL to Raymond and Rosa(Homan) Moore. She married Glenn W Pitzer on July 31, 1949. He passed away January 24, 2002.
Colleen is survived by her two sons David(Marcy);Steven(Linda) and three grandchildren Erin(Jeff) Jackson and their children Zoey and Nolan; Monica(Aaron) Scheerer and their children Gavin and Lane; Mark (Jorgia) Pitzer and their children Clara, Maeve and Everett. She was preceded in death by one grandson Benjamin and a cousin Naomi Schaefer whom she considered a sister.
Colleen graduated Manual High School in 1944 and was a civilian employee of the department of the Navy during World War II. She was a bookkeeper for the Avery Furniture Company and later Quality House and WABCO. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and the National Society of Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company. She enjoyed stargazing and sharing her vast knowledge of the Night Sky and bird watching and identifying the different species of birds. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Colleen was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville Illinois. Services will be held at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with Pastor Kara Wiechman officiating on Tuesday November 25 from 11:00 am- 12:00 pm with visitation one hour before beginning at 10:00am. Burial of ashes at Lutheran Cemetery will follow the service.
