Kenneth Gene Durdle

Kenneth Gene Durdle, 85, of Peoria, Illinois died Monday, March 21, 2011, at 3:35 AM at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria surrounded by loved ones at his side. He was born October 4,1925 in New Canton, Illinois to Walter and Elizabeth (Behrends) Durdle. He married Dorothy Helen Stuaan on October 23,1949 in Bartonville, Illinois. She survives. One son survives, David Alan (Lori) Durdle of West Peoria, Illinois. One daughter, Diane Durdle Hostettler of Peoria County, Illinois survives. He also has five grandchildren, Jayme (Mike) Corcoran of Bloomington, Illinois, Trenton Hostettler of Peoria, Tyler Hostettler of Schamburg, Illinois, Tony Hostettler of Peoria and Zakary Durdle of West Peoria. He is survived by three great grandchildren, Peytan, Cade, and Aleksy Corcoran. He has one sister living, Virginia (Ollie) Helderle of Peoria. He was preceded in death by one brother Walter Durdle and one sister of Eileen O’Connor.

Kenneth was the owner for over 35 years of the C+D Wholesale Sporting Goods Store in Peoria. He was a WWII Army veteran. He enjoyed his family very much, and was a great fisherman and loved hunting.

Private Services will be Thursday March 24, 2011 at the St. John Lutheran Church, 6614 West Smithville Road, Bartonville, Illinois 61607. The Rev. Michael S. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
