He was born on May 24, 1947 in Risco, Missouri to Herschel and Pearl (Vise) Kem. He married Loretta Beckner on November 20, 1971 in Washington, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Janet L. Kem and William W. Kem both of Pekin, Illinois; one brother, Michael Kem of Hanna City, Illinois and one sister Verna Kem of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.
Larry worked over 17 years for the Pekin Park District retiring in 2013. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to garden.
A celebration of life service will be Friday, March 23, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. A gathering will be from 4pm until 6 pm Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
