LeRoy Earle "Lee" Empey, 51, of Canton, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 21, 1970 in Heidelberg, Germany. He married Amy Smith on May 21, 2016. She survives.
Lee is also survived by his children: Alexis, Canton; Zachary and Tyler, Pekin; step-children: Joey (fiancé Makayla) Knott, Hanna City; Jeremy Knott, Glasford; and Sarah Knott, Farmington; granddaughter: Amelia "Millie" Little, Farmington; brother, Andrew (Danielle) Empey, Galesburg; and parents: Andrew (Jan) Empey, Fiatt and Ursula Beneke, Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Willard "Will" Empey; and Oma, Marileen Empey.
Lee last worked as a driver for Indiana Transport, and he attended Calvary Baptist Church in Canton. He loved cooking, fishing, and cheering on the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was happiest when spending time with his family, and Lee especially loved spending time with his granddaughter Millie who was the apple of his eye.
Lee's funeral service will be private, and there will be no visitation. Interment will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in rural Mapleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for his family care of Amy Empey FBO LeRoy Empey Funeral with CEFCU.
