

M. Maxine “Max” Schutt, 87, of East Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Lake Camelot, died at her residence on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. She was born on March 9, 1926 in Bloomington, Illinois. She was the daughter of William Edward and Mary J. Robitske Crump.
She is survived by one daughter, Diana (Joe) Riederer of Mackinaw, Illinois, three grandchildren, David (Lauren) Riederer of Mandeville, Louisiana, Tommy (Alexis) Riederer of Trenton, Florida and Anna Riederer of East Peoria, Illinois. She has two great grandchildren, Oliver Riederer of Mandeville, Louisiana and Joseph Riederer of Trenton, Florida. She was preceded in death by her life partner of 45 years, Yvonne Schultz and one brother, John William Crump.
She worked over 35 years as a Librarian for the Peoria Public Library System, instrumental in starting the branch libraries of the three Peoria area hospitals, from which she retired.
Maxine was a graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria and Illinois State University. She also had played softball for the Caterpillar Dieselettes for several years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Father Mark DeSutter will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel and 30 minutes prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois. Memorials may be made to TAPS, St. Anthony Catholic Church or the Peoria Public Library.
