She was born in Peoria, Illinois, on July 17, 1989, to Michael Buxton and Lisa (Kober) Dearing, Paige grew up in the Peoria area, where she attended Limestone Community High School. She worked as a medical dispatcher at Advanced Medical Transport for 11 years, where she made friendships that evolved into family.
She was quick-witted with a dry sense of humor and impeccable delivery. Never turning down an opportunity for adventure, Paige enjoyed the arts, traveling, and learning about the world, its nuances, and other ways of life. She boasted a strong passion for music, including pop (especially Taylor Swift), K-pop, rock, country, rap, R&B, grunge, and more.
A true animal lover, Paige opened her heart and home to rescue her beloved dog, Razor, in 2015. The profound bond they developed became the foundation for countless adventures together.
Paige leaves behind her parents, Michael and Lisa; stepmother, Sherri Buxton; grandparents, Glenn and Wendy Buxton; brothers, Ryan Buxton and Bryan Klokkenga (Erin); sister, Brittany Klokkenga; nieces, Adelyn and Lillyn Klokkenga; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Paige’s legacy endures through the lives she has touched and the lives she has saved through organ donation. She leaves an indelible mark on those lucky to know her compassion, wit, gentle nature, kindness, and warmth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Bartonville, IL, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Paige’s name to the SAMS rescue, an organization dedicated to reducing the number of euthanized animals in central Illinois, or TAPS, a no-kill animal shelter in Pekin.
