He was born on July 12, 1951 in Peoria to Edward and Catherine (Johnson) Campen. He married Kitty Bennett in Peoria on July 15, 1969, she survives.
Raymond is also survived by his daughters, Kathy (Brock) Yeske, Angi (Shane) Hittle, and Patty (Tim) Roberts; grandchildren, Tony Campen, Amber Campen, Austyn (Stefanie) Yeske, Josh (Jessica) Campen, Brevyn (Helena) Yeske, Charlie Roberts, Samantha Roberts, Camdyn Yeske, Kayla Hittle and Kelsey Hittle; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and his dog, Bear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Fred, Jerry and Carl.
Cremation rites have been accorded, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
