

He was born April 10, 1927 in Timber Township,IL to George and Hannah (Fischer) Hammerich. He married Delores May Sperry on July 25, 1954 in Glasford, IL. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2020. Also preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Katherine Skaggs and one sister, Luella Evans.
Surviving are his son, Robert (Vicki) Hammerich of Glasford, two granddaughters, Johannah Poulson of Bartonville and Amy (Michael) Adams of Kingston Mines, three great-grandchildren, Eli, Nathan, and Kane, and one brother, Ray Hammerich of Hanna City.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army and was a farmer in Glasford until retiring. He was also a carpenter and helped his brother build several homes in the area. Raymond was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, the outdoors, woodworking and tinkering on just about anything. Raymond also loved to put together puzzles and gardening with his wife, and stuffing envelopes for the church.
A funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 with visitation 1 hr. prior to the service at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford. Facemasks and social distance are requested for those attending the visitation. The service will be available on Facebook live on the funeral homes Facebook page and for those who wish to listen to the service in their vehicles, in the church parking lot, the church will be providing a radio station to tune to when you arrive. Burial will follow the service at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Social Distancing and masks are requested. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
