Rita M. Finch, 88, of Bartonville, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. Born in Streator, on January 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Mae (Colla) Copp. On December 29, 1956, she married Duane Eugene Finch in Toluca. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2014.
Surviving Rita are four children, Susan Cobratti, Sharon (Brad) Wood, Shelly (Greg Weynand) Lunsford, and Steven (Tammy) Finch, all of Bartonville; eight grandchildren, Gabrielle Wood, Stephanie (Eli Deatherage) Lunsford, Seth (Alissa)Lunsford, Andrew (Felicia) Finch, Kelly Finch, Morgan Curry, Brady Curry, and Jax (Andrew) Auer; and nine great-grandchildren, Desmond and Oaklee Coleman, Bristol, RaeLyn, and Beau Lunsford, Wyatt and Emmett Deatherage, Maisie Finch, and Luna Bratton. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike Cobratti; and a sister, Joanie (Bill) Coffey.
Rita was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and enjoyed animals, plants, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Father Jeremy Freehill, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anne Catholic Church for Memorial Masses to be said in her name.
