Roy P. Lonsdale, 81, of Peoria, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 28, 1933 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of John A. and Helen F. (Hartley) Lonsdale. He married Bernita L. Canada on November 9, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives.
He is also survived by three children, Debra Lonsdale, David Lonsdale and Donna (Richard) Bouchez all of Peoria, Illinois. He has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren surviving. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Roy was a machinist for 371/2 years at Caterpillar Inc. retiring in 1991. He was a member of the UAW 974 and loved spending time on his farm. He was a Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Graveside services will be Friday, September 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Doug Traxler will officiate. Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Limestone Fire Department or the Hilltop Fellowship Church.
