Steven H. Whitehurst

He was born July 2, 1953 in Peoria, Illinois to L.H. and Mary K. (Loew) Whitehurst. He was preceded in death by his father and his dog, Lucas Barkley.

Surviving is his mother, Mary of Peoria; two daughters, Heather (Wes) McGownd and Lindsey Whitehurst both of Peoria; one granddaughter, Ava Whitehurst; one expected granddaughter; four brothers, Terry Whitehurst of Peoria, Tom (Marlene) Whitehurst of St. Louis, MO., Tim (Betty) Whitehurst of Peoria and Scott (Karen) Whitehurst of East Peoria.

He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire, in the Wire Mill Shipping Dept. for 39 years and was a member of the Independent Steelworker’s Alliance.

Steven loved vegetable gardening and spent every Sunday with his daughters and granddaughter.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate.
