Vonda Bender

Vonda was born on November 1, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Otto Dean McWhirter and Vona (Pascoe) Graf. She had married Richard Whitby in 1980.

Surviving are her son, Todd (Kimberly) Bender of Bartonville, IL; four granddaughters, Venessa (Tom) Ryan of Pekin, IL, Stephanie Bender of Pekin, Destiny Bender of Bartonville and Candi (Nicci) Pudney of Bartonville; her sister, Grace Garrison of Havana, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Hugh and Dean McWhirter.

Vonda graduated with a degree in Nursing from Central Oregon Community College and worked for OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 30 years retiring in 1995. In her leisure she enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, camping and vacationing to Oregon. Vonda enjoyed helping others and spending time with her granddaughters.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11am at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Online condolences may be made through www.davison-fulton-bartonvillechapel.com
