William Reynolds

William "Bill" Keith Reynolds, age 69, of Peoria passed away on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Heights Healthcare in Peoria Heights.Bill was born on March 6, 1945, in Peoria, Ill., to Luther and Mildred (Batterton) Reynolds. He married Linda Brown on July 2, 1967. She survives.Also surviving are his sister, Beverly Reynolds of Roseville, Ill.; five daughters, Charmin (Jerry) Leas, Vicky Gray, Barbara Reynolds, Alysse Reynolds and Marissa Reynolds; his niece, Brandy Reynolds, who was like a daughter to him; Robbie Johnson, who was like a son; seven grandchildren, Lezlie Leas, Stephanie Leas, Daniel Johnson, John Johnson, Devin Gray, Lindsey Johnson and Lexi Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Courtway, Ryan Dowds and Autumn Lola Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents.Bill served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1962-1966. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1998 and owned Reynolds Upholstery for 26 years. He was a member of Faith Missionary Church, where he served as a Deacon; enjoyed motorcycle riding; and had been a member of the Venture Club. He lived his life with integrity and a deep love for the Lord. He was always smiling and enjoyed teasing and a good joke. Bill enjoyed having the small children around and playing Santa for the holidays. He was well-known for his holiday decor, most of which he made himself. Bill was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.The family would like to thank the staff of OSF, Kindred Hospital and Heddington Oaks for their excellent care.Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., at Faith Missionary Church in Peoria. The Rev. Craig Hislope will be officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.Memorials may be made to Faith Missionary Church.
