In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Stanley Hunt (1996); daughter, Sandra Conner; second wife, Lula Mae Hunt (6/2023); brother in laws, Thurman Scott and Ray Lambert.
Darrell is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Kidd (Darrell); granddaughter, Amber Mercado (Michel); grandson, Ryan Kidd; great grandson, Luka Mercado; sisters, Brenda Lambert, Janie Scott and a host of nieces and nephews. Stepdaughter, Lisa Lewis; step grandchildren, Crystal Padgett, Lisa Higgs and Mitchell Lewis.
Darrell enjoyed hunting and fishing and fixing up old trucks. A service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA, at 12:00 pm, with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will immediately follow at Henry Memorial Cemetery.
