Mr. Turner retired from Dupont after 30 years of service. He enjoyed crow hunting and fishing as hobbies.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Hancock Turner, sons; Bradford Audie Turner and wife Melissa of Stokesdale, N.C. and Corvin Lance Turner and wife Robin of Bassett, sister; Anne Elizabeth Whiteway and husband Don of Smithfield, VA, grandson; Jacob Turner, step-grandsons; Michael Biggs, T.J. and Ethan Weatherford, step-great-granddaughter; Meredith Biggs.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with Reverends Joe Kendrick and Doug Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
