

Glenn Edward Morton, 54, of Bassett, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville-Henry Co. He was born in Henry Co on August 19, 1956 to the James Edward Morton and the later Mildred Wall Morton. He was employed for more than eight years with Brinegar Trucking Co., as a truck driver. He was a member of the Henry County Bass Masters Association.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one brother, J.W. Morton.
In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Darlene Bryant Morton of the home, one son, Jeremy Glenn Morton, of Bassett, three sisters, Yvonne Hopkins of Ridgeway, Carolyn Eggleston of Martinsville and Betty Jo Barbour of Axton, five brothers, Roger Morton of Axton, Freddie Morton of Spencer, Randy Morton, Jackie Morton and Gary Dean Morton all of Axton, one grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 in the Chapel of Collins-McKee-Stone in Bassett with Reverend Phillip Sears officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in the Chapel of Collins-McKee-Stone of Bassett and other times at the home of his brother, Jackie Morton at 243 Mountain Valley Road, Axton.
