Goldie Stone Wright

Born on October 21, 1922, in Bassett, Goldie was the daughter of the late Colonel and Madgie Stone of Bassett.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years of marriage John Richard Wright, sister Ella Raines, and brothers, Edward Stone, JD Stone and Cebert Stone.

Goldie is survived by her daughters, Becky Helms (Wayne) and Kathy Plogger; five grandchildren, Brandon Helms (Nichole), Jaison Plogger, April Eason (Lee), Barak Plogger (Samantha) and Austin Plogger (Stephanie); eleven great-grandchildren, Kayliann Plogger, Hailey Helms, Kayla Eason, Maddie Plogger, Reamy Plogger, Linsey Helms, Owen Plogger, Mallory Plogger, Levi Plogger, Wyatt Plogger and Asher Eason.

She was a homemaker for 18 years before working at Bassett Walker for 23 years in the Sewing Department 2.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Bassett since 1941, she had a passion for serving in the nursery department. She was cherished for her generous Sunday suppers and the homemade biscuits that brought family together after church.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Bassett. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm and will be officiated by Reverend Doug Ramsey. The family will have a private interment.
