Hazel Zeigler

Mrs. Hazel Perdue Zeigler, age 98 of Martinsville, Va. passed away on Thursday evening,
March 28, 2024 at The Landmark Center, Stuart, Va. after a decline in health. Mrs. Zeigler was born on September 7, 1925 in Franklin County, Va. to the late Hampton Perdue and the late Nannie Betty Blankenship Perdue.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolphus Zeigler, one grandson, Timothy Odell; six sisters, Cheryl Perdue, Eliza Carter, Vernie Law, Vickie Holland, Fern Ferguson, Mollie Holland; three brothers, Charles Perdue, Harvie Perdue and Edgar Perdue; and son-in-law, William J. "Bill" Handy.
She was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church. She was retired from Bassett Walker with 40 years of service.
Mrs. Zeigler is survived by three daughters, Janet Handy, Joyce Odell (Terrell), and Susan Knight (Dewey); four grandchildren, Terri Cook (David), Joseph Knight (Mallory), Christopher Knight (Morgan), and Erin Knight (fiance Brett Winchel); eight great grandchildren, Kevin Webster, Boone Knight, Jaxson Knight, Lennox Knight, Laken Knight, Chelsea Spainhour, Tyler Cook, and Grace Cook; one great great grandchild, Maisie Webster and Martha Odell, the surviving spouse of deceased grandson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Roselawn Burial Park with Reverend Danny Brim officiating.
