

Hilbert “Hil” Kyle Campbell 88 of Fieldale, died April 28, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1928 in Penhook, VA to the late Hugh A. Campbell and Emogene B. Campbell. He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Campbell.
Hilbert was a Franklin County Tobacco and Cattle Farmer prior to his employment at DuPont. Hilbert retired from DuPont after 32 years of service. He then started his own business and was owner of Campbell's Golf Car Sales and Repairs. Hilbert served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Blackberry Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Louise Adams Campbell of the home. They were married for 45 years. He is survived by his son Stephen Kyle Campbell (Jennifer) of Rocky Mount, VA and grandson Jonathan Campbell. He is also survived by a step-daughter Pam Hall (Rick) of Bassett, VA and granddaughters Courtney Lippencott (Chris) of Fieldale, VA, Kelly Fulcher (Ross) of Gladehill, VA and also Taylor Hall of Bassett, VA. He also had 3 great-grandchildren McKenzie Lippencott, Parker Lippencott and Madison Fulcher.
Hilbert enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Western Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed trips to the beach and was an avid Sudoku Puzzle worker. He enjoyed life to the fullest before his illness. During his years of illness he fought a hard battle with cancer and heart disease. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Blackberry Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Kieselbach and Reverend Dr. G.H. Vaughn officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
