Lois Virginia Cassell, age 93 of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 25, 2021. Mrs. Cassell was born on January 4, 1928 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Posey Finney and the late Lena Walker Finney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noten Thomas Cassell, two sons, Roy Cassell, Tim Cassell, four sisters, Helen Purdy, Barbara Corns, Louise Foley, Virgie Finney, two brothers, Charlie Finney, Sam Finney, two step sisters, Mildred Ross and Frances Hayes. She was a member of Day Star Ministries Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Cassell is survived by three daughters, Joanne Cassell, Sharon C. Taylor and husband, Stan, Jennifer Hendricks and husband, Jamie, three sons, Tommy Cassell, Harold Cassell and Lewis Cassell and wife, Angela. She raised two of her grandchildren, Virginia Sink and Melinda Witt. She also leaves 17 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Two special nephews. John Hall and Jessie Finney.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Day Star Ministries Church of God of Prophecy, 6387 Virginia Avenue, Bassett, Virginia 24055.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 31, 2021 at Day Star Ministries Church of God of Prophecy. Interment will follow in the Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 4410 Stones Dairy Road, Bassett, Virginia 24055.
