Malcolm Moore

Malcolm A. Moore 91 of Bassett passed away on March 7, 2023. He was born on October 11, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents William Cicero Moore and Willie Hudson Moore, and a sister Doris Thornhill.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lolene Prillaman Moore, 2 daughters: Janet Gwyn (Mike) and Beth Borowski (Bob) 2 grandchildren: Tony Gwyn and Eric Turner (Emily) 2 great-grandchildren: Macon Gwyn and Maddie Gwyn, 1 sister: Esther Fisher of Bassett, and several nieces and nephews.

He retired from Roy Stone Transfer after 25 years or service as a Rate Clerk Supervisor, had a 2-year accounting degree, and served 2 years in the Army 1952-54. He was a member of Daystar Ministries of Bassett. In his younger years he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent and Worship Leader at the Church he grew up in. He was very active in the Church and his hobby was reading and intense Bible study.

Funeral Arrangements will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA with viewing and visitation at 12 pm and the funeral service at 1:00 pm . Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
