In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Hooker, and two brothers, Anslie Hooker and Ralph Hooker.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hooker, son, Jeffrey Lee Hooker and wife Sharon of Bassett, daughter, Susan Hooker Foley and husband Timothy Ray of Fieldale, brothers, Melvin Hooker and wife Janie of Winston Salem, NC, Leon Hooker and wife Geraldine of Mount Airy, NC, and Donald Hooker and wife Carolyn of Greensboro, NC, five grandchildren, Morgan Foley, Josh Napier, Jordan Stone and husband Josh, Madison Foley, and Shellee Hooker.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 25 at 11:00 A.M. at Collins Funeral Home-Bassett Chapel with Dr. Joe Bryant and Rev. Alan Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
