Robert Allen Belton

Robert Allen Belton, 85, of Bassett, Va., passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Kings Grant. He was born November 4, 1932 to the late Nathan Belton and Day Tuggle Belton. Robert proudly served our country as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957 and retired from DuPont after 30+ years of service. He was a dedicated member of Blackberry Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, his loving wife of 45 years, Doris Ellis Belton; one brother, Eugene Belton; and two younger siblings precedes him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Turner and husband Donald of Boones Mill, Va.; and son, Barry Belton and wife Susan of Charlotte, N.C.; one granddaughter, Caroline Turner; and one sister, Audrey Belton. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 20 at Blackberry Baptist Church at noon with pastor Chad Janey officiating, with visitation held an hour prior to the service.
