Thomas Linwood Foley

Thomas Linwood Foley, 81, of Fieldale, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his residence after a long illness. He was born on March 16, 1934 in Henry County to Aaron Foley and Minnie Lou Hollandsworth Foley. Thomas served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, he was retired from Fieldcrest Mills with 38 years of service and he was a member of Stella Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Graham and his brothers, Jimmy and Gene Foley.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Nancy Dunkley Foley of the home; his daughter, Wanda Fisher of Patrick Springs; his sons Timothy Foley and his wife, Karen of Rocky Mount and Stanley Foley and his wife, Debbie of Snow Creek; his sister, Barbara Hopkins of Bassett; his brothers, David Foley of Patrick Springs, Wallace Foley of Florida and Winfred Foley of Spencer and five grandchildren, Matthew and Tyler Fisher, Brandon and Alyssa Foley and Ridge Adkins.

The family will receive friends Friday night, October 30, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Bassett.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Stella Christian Church with Rev. Steve Hayes and Rev. Jeff Rhea officiating. Interment will follow at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Military Rites.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Foley, Richard Woods, Roger Woods, Brian Hilton, Jimmy Adams and Gary Stowe

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 18981 Jeb Stuart Highway, Stuart, VA 24171.
