Thomas Byrd Joyce Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Pauline Ramsey Joyce. He had a passion for golf and cherished the relationships he built at Lynwood Country Club and other local clubs. He served in the United States Navy aboard the Worcester class light-cruiser, the USS Roanoke.

He is survived by his two daughters, Wanda Cart and husband, Mike of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Kathy Holada and husband, James of Charlotte, North Carolina, one son, Thomas (Tommy) Joyce, Jr. and wife Kristy of Salem, Virginia, one sister, Vera Joyce Whitlow of Stuart, VA, two brothers, Albert Joyce and wife Hazel of Rangely, Leon Joyce and wife Jean of Collinsville, six grandchildren, Andrew Cart, Sara Sumner, Caitlyn Cart, Kathryn Brooke “KB” Carpenter, Thomas Byrd (Trey) Joyce, III, and Kendall Joyce, one great-grandson, Byrd Sumner, with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel, Bassett, Virginia with Dr. Joey McNeill officiating.

Interment will follow at Henry Memorial Park, Bassett, Virginia.

The family will receive friends at Collins Chapel one hour prior to the service.
