Vivian Carter Clark Scranton

Vivian Carter Clark Scranton, 94 of Martinsville, VA, passed away Saturday, September 30th at Blue Ridge Nursing Home. She was born on February 9, 1923 to the late Flint Carter and Alzia Frith Carter. Vivian lived most of her life in Franklin County. She was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church and retired from American Furniture Company after numerous years of employment. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Thurman Clark, and later husband, Harry Scranton; one daughter, Betty Cooper; four sisters, and three brothers. Surviving her are four sons, Douglas E. Clark and wife Deborah of Bassett, VA, Donald L. Clark, Sr. and wife Judy of Bassett, VA, Paul M. Clark and wife Diana of Martinsville, VA, and Bobby R. Clark and wife Sherry of Ferrum, VA, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, October 2nd at Collins Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Randy Sawyers and Richard Setliff officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Burial Park.
