   My thoughts and prayers go out to the Eastty Family. I first met Mr Steve Eastty at Longhorn Speedway in the early Eighties as  a teenager.  You could find him there at Longhorn Speedway every Friday night.  Steve was a great competitor to race against and  was always helping everybody out at the track. I can see him now perched up on top of his welding truck watching the races . . R.I.P. Mr Steve Eastty

I'm very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was great guy. Met him back in the early 90's when I started racing @ Longhorn Speedway. He helped me and a great many other people keep our race night going even after we thought we were done. Also enjoyed racing against him in the cruiser stock class @ Thunderhill Raceway. I had the greatest admiration for Steve. He loved his family so dearly. You children were a great source of joy and the grandchildren were his pride. He was there for you in good times and difficult times. Regardless, he always had your backs. Who can forget all of his riddles? I remember him telling me that if a man offered to give you a penny for your thoughts and you gave him your two cents worth, what do you suppose he did with the other penny? And who but Steve would think to reverse his grandson's name, Tony, and call him Y-not?? I will miss his call on my birthday next week. He always remembered to wish me a happy birthday. Sue, I know you will miss your steadfast life partner. I pray that God will comfort you in your sorrow; hold you in the hollow of his hands; and shelter you in his arms. My faith says that we will one day laugh with him again. Until then, he will never be forgotten. Thank you for always making me feel like family. I love you.
