Adele LeBlanc Heuvel

She died as she lived, well grounded in her Catholic Faith and surrounded by family. Adele, born in St. Gabriel, LA, was the beloved wife of the late Leo J Heuvel with whom she shared 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2016. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. Adele was a devoted Mother of two children, David Heuvel (Ginger) of Watson, LA., and Gretchen Macaluso (Wayne) of Baton Rouge, LA. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Aaron Heuvel (Julie), Zachary Heuvel (fiancé Cassidy), Emily M. Moskau (Andrew), Daniel Macaluso and great grandchildren Abe Heuvel, Ruth Moskau and Lucy Moskau.

She is also survived by her brother, Michael LeBlanc (Gwen) of Prairieville and sister, Susan Thomas of Metairie.

Adele is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonso E. LeBlanc Jr. and Alice Becnel LeBlanc; brothers, David, Eugene and Donald LeBlanc; sister-in-laws, Rachael LeBlanc and Delores LeBlanc and brother-in law, John Thomas.

Besides enjoying life with her family, Adele loved to spend time gardening, traveling with siblings and cooking her famous coconut cake, gumbo and pralines.

She was a faithful and active parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy. She served on the Candle and Perpetual Adoration Ministries and volunteered at numerous school and church events. Adele retired from the US Bankruptcy Court, held numerous offices for the local chapter of NARFE and was a member of Passe Bon Temp Luncheon group.

Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge on Tuesday February 18th at 9:30 until Mass Service at 10:30. Entombment to follow at St Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery in St Gabriel.

The family is thankful to her team of caregivers including Cathy Trask, Deloris Augustus, Charleen Beaulieu and Christina Taylor. Also her supportive team of nurses of St Joseph Hospice. A special thank you to her long-time neighbors Johnny and Barbara Murray.
