

Adeline "Mamie" Scott Jackson, a cherished mother, grandmother "Momo," sister, cousin, and friend was born on May 24, 1940, to the late Harry & Velma York Scott in Carville, La. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Bishop Eugene Harris, which is now under the leadership of Bishop Cornelius Sharper. Adeline was a retiree from Hunts Corrections.
On March 2, 2026, Adeline left this world peacefully surrounded by her daughters and family. Adeline built a life filled with love and laughter raising her five wonderful and faithful girls, whom she referred to as her heartbeats, whom she leaves to cherish her memory, Dr. Terri Lane Hunt (Memphis, TN), Mary Ann Jackson (deceased), Catherine Andrea Tillery (Baton Rouge, La), Wendy Adeline Livous (Baton Rouge, La.), and Velma Marline Jackson (Baton Rouge, La.); two bonus sons, Frank Renard Jackson and Kenneth Ray Jackson; and godchildren, Audrey Jacobs and Gary Wayne Scott. Adeline was a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, Seneca Roberson (T.L.), Shalonda Ross, Senerca Johnson (Tammy), Kenneth Johnson (Dr. Kandi), Crystal Harris (Preston), Alton Ross Jr. (Remicha), Marleitha Jackson, Terica Tillery and Joseph Tillery; and host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she all loved dearly.
She waS preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry & Velma Scott; a daughter, Mary Ann Jackson; and three sisters, Bobbie Jean, Lillian and Grace.
Services will be conducted at Greenoaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70815 Viewing 9:30 am-10:30 am Friday, March 13, 2026. Services at 11:00am.
