Albert "5" Earl Michel, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, after a long illness. Al was an avid fisherman and spent as much time as possible at his camp on the coast. He loved to travel and was an excellent cook. He loved talking to people and never met a stranger. Al was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School class of "63" and never missed a reunion and a chance to connect with old friends. He was a very proud Navy veteran. Albert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Bankston Michel; one daughter who he adored, Renee Michel Bowman and husband Jeffrey Bowman; four grandchildren, Nicole M. Bowman, Matthew T. Bowman and fiancé Hannah Richards, Ryan P. Bowman and wife Victoria and Rachel E. Bowman; great granddaughter, Ella Brooks Bowman; and a sister, Sharron Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Trehern Michel and John Albert Michel; a sister, Virginia Michel Oyler; mother-in-law, Frances Bankston; and father-in-law, Leo V. Bankston. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation, which will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home & Crematory, 825 Government St, on Friday, April 30, 2021, 10:00 am, until religious service at noon.
