Audrey F Phinney passed to her rest on January 25, 2022, at the age of 100, in her home surrounded by family. She was born Audrey Lee Fletcher on September 6, 1921, in Denham Springs, La. At an early age, she and her parents and four younger siblings relocated to Sherburne to pursue farming opportunities. Her final move was to Baton Rouge with husband Wilton Tyler and daughter Janice. A conscientious worker, she was employed at Exxon as a keypunch operator until her retirement in 1986.
Audrey loved God her Father and her Savior Jesus Christ and was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She also loved her family and friends, was patient and kind, and enjoyed telling stories of the “old days“ in Sherburne, working in her vegetable garden, following the stock market, and bargain hunting.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wilton Tyler; second husband of 29 years, Bill Phinney; sister Pearl Faser; and foster daughter Geraldine Brooks.
She is survived by siblings Lessie Rice, Tolley Fletcher, Curtis Fletcher; Daughter Janice T May; Step children Larry Phinney, Linda Balfantz, and Lawana (Darold) Hardy; granddaughters Juli (David) Graham and Jodi (Scott) Johnson; great grandchildren Alexa and Easlyn Johnson, and Justin and Jared Graham; and many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Mike Martinez. Interment will immediately follow at Denham Springs Cemetery.
