Benton “Mr. Ben” John Guidry, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the age of 83. He was born March 19, 1938, to Benton and Rose Guidry. He was a veteran of the US Navy, a member of LSCA, Louisiana ASA Softball, and USSSA Softball Hall of Fame. Mr. Ben’s true love of life was Louisiana Patriots softball. He spent his entire life mentoring the organization. He was a big influence of girls’ fastpitch softball in the state of Louisiana, spending 52 years coaching. Throughout the years, he touched many people with his love for softball. If there’s a softball team in Heaven, they gained the best coach.
