Betty Sanchez Carpenter died Wednesday, June 5th. She was 83. Betty was born in Baton Rouge and lived there all her life. She left a career of teaching to raise her family. She is survived by her son, Ware Carpenter and his wife Suzanne Carpenter of Estes Park, CO; her daughter, Lisa Herron and her husband Billy Herron of Long Beach, MS; her sister, Joyce Poche'; and four grandchildren: Laura Carpenter, Andrew Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter and Lucy Herron. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe Carpenter; and her parents, Leo and Lucille Sanchez. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, June 11th, starting at 11:00, followed by services at 1:00, conducted by the Rev. Brady Whitton. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Andrew Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter, Craig Karl and Fred Gernon.
