Betty Lou Lessard

She was preceded in death by her parents, Plez and Carrie Simmons; brother, Sonny Simmons; sister, Mary Louise Hennan.

She is survived by her husband, Aubrey J. Lessard, Sr.; children, Todd Bourgeois (Kelly), Mitch Bourgeois, Mark Bourgeois, Michelle Melancon (Keith), AJ Lessard, Jr., Clyde Lessard (Christie), Thomas Lessard (Tina), Chryl Desselle; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty dedicated 20 years to working in a nursing home, where she styled hair and helped others feel beautiful. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with her beloved husband, creating many cherished memories together. Betty had a passion for gardening and sewing, and she took great joy in both hobbies. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family, whom she loved deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow as well as the burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
