Bobby Dale Harvey, a beacon of adventure and camaraderie, rode off into the sunset on January 8, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on July 26, 1949, Bobby embraced life with a zest that was as vibrant as the Louisiana lakes that he loved to ski on. His departure, at the age of 76, leaves behind a trail of memories and friendships as dynamic and tight as the dirt bike tracks he loved to blaze. A proud graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in Building Construction, Bobby dedicated his professional years building and managing coal fired powered plants, ultimately retiring from Cajun Electric at the age of 51. However, his true calling was found far from the office, revving the engines of dirt bikes and leading the charge as the fearless leader of the Plugfoulers, his cherished trail-riding club. Whether navigating the tricky trails of Louisiana or the rugged terrains of Colorado during their annual escapades, Bobby was in his element—helmet on, sometimes, heart open, and spirit free. Bobby's smile was as infectious as his passion for the outdoors. He never met a stranger and was known for his uncanny ability to turn any gathering into an unforgettable adventure. His stories of daring rides and occasional humorous tumbles were always relived around the warmth of a campfire on the hill, with a twinkle in his eye and a love for life that was as boundless as the trails he rode. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 and a half years, Anita Harvey, who was not only his partner in life but his co-adventurer in all things wild and wonderful. His legacy continues through his children, Kristi Murray and her husband Mack, and Jason Harvey and his wife Sandy. His spirit thrives in his grandchildren, Kyle, Christopher, and Megan Murray, as well as Skylar and Jayci Harvey, who will undoubtedly carry forward his love for adventure and creating memories. In celebration of Bobby's life, a gathering will be held at the family home on a later date to be announced. Friends and family are encouraged to bring their four-wheelers or bikes for an honorary ride around the property he adored—a fitting tribute to a man who found joy in every turn of the wheel. Though Bobby's ride on this earth has reached its finish line, his legacy of laughter, love, and adventure continues to inspire all who knew him. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember a man whose trail of joy and camaraderie will forever guide us.
