
Bonnie Dyson Mahaffey, 82, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, after a long battle with leukemia. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Clayton Rogan Mahaffey Sr.; five sons, CB Mahaffey and his wife, Maggie Mahaffey, Clay Mahaffey, Danny Mahaffey, Guy Mahaffey and his wife, Lat Mahaffey, and Martin Mahaffey; and grandchildren, Clayton Mahaffey III, Catherine Mahaffey, Christine Omar, Nathan Mahaffey, Blair Mahaffey, Brent Mahaffey, Chad Mahaffey and Megan Mahaffey. Bonnie was the only child of Guy Dyson and Gladys McGee Dyson. Bonnie was born in Plaquemine, raised in West Baton Rouge Parish and lived in Baton Rouge. She lived two years in Taiwan with her husband. She traveled extensively around the United States, Europe, India and Asia. She attended LSU and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Philanthropic Education Organization and First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge. Bonnie was christened in West Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church and was active for many years before moving to Baton Rouge. Visitation will be in the Dunham Chapel of First Presbyterian Church on North Boulevard on Monday, Oct. 4, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., with services to follow. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery of Baton Rouge on North 19th Street.
