"A native of Larto, LA and longtime BR resident went home to see his Savior on April 10, 2018, at the age of 100. Carlton is a graduate of La Tech University where he received a Chemical Engineering degree. He worked for the California Oil Company, LA State Department of Natural Resources and ProSys Systems. In WWII he faithfully served his country as a navigator on a B-24 Liberator Bomber. He was a POW in a German prison camp and is a Purple Heart recipient. Carlton was a long-time member and Bible teacher at Zoar Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, John and Marla Hudson, Charles and Brenda Hudson, Michael and Tana Hudson, and James and Lisa Hudson, his 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, one brother Cameron Hudson and two sisters, Melphonie Moulard and Bernice Williams, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Vera Rose Paul Hudson, parents Charles and Matilda Hudson as well as ten brothers and sisters. Visitation will be at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Road on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. and conducted by Rev. Glen Miers. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Matthew, Andrew, Mark, and Stephen Hudson along with grandsons-in-law, Cody Jackson, Joshua Speyrer, Eric Camp, and Andy D'Amico. Mr. Hudson lived a life devoted to the Lord. John 11:25-26 Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?" The family would like to thank the staff at St. James Place and Flannery Oaks who lovingly cared for Mr. Hudson over the last years of his life.
