

Charles Joseph "Pie" Bonaventure, 82, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of St. Amant, passed away on Monday Feb. 22, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Charlie was retired from Exxon Chemical with 43 years of service and leader of the Charlie Bonaventure Orchestra for 40 years. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The Rev. Jason Palermo will be presiding over the services. Charlie is survived by his wife, Sondra "Sunny" Bonaventure; children, Vicki Bonaventure Brand and husband Keith, Chuck Bonaventure, Barry Bonaventure and wife Kristen, and Gerald Bonaventure; stepchildren, Kelly Blouin-Frank and husband Galyn, Lizz Blouin Street and husband Craig, Tracy Blouin Urdiales and husband Carlos, and Jamie Blouin and husband Robert Dunaway; grandchildren, Kasey, Kelly and Kolton Brand, Brittani Bonaventure, Devin Bonaventure, Kristi, Lacey and Melissa Street, Riley Dunaway and Dallas and Dillan Urdiales; great-grandchildren, Seth Bankston, Aaron Broussard and Codee Paul Brison; brothers and sisters, Alfred and Theresa Bonaventure, Michael and Pat Bonaventure, Dale Bonaventure, Ron Bonaventure and Verna and Dick Robertson. He was a proud daddy to his precious poodle, Jolie. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Cyriac and Noelie Samson Bonaventure. Pallbearers will be all of his grandsons. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Donations may be made in Charlie's honor to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
