
A retired chemical engineer for Albemarle Corp., formerly Ethel, he was a resident of Baton Rougeand native ofSpringfield, Ill.He was 73 and a pilot/navigator for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Air Force Reserve and SAC. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., was on Tuesday, May 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting at St. James Episcopal Church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Survived by his daughter, Susan Colvin, Birmingham, Ala.; two sons, Dan Colvin and wife Linda, Dripping Springs, Texas, and Stephen Colvin and partner Jaime, Birmingham; sister, Jane Colvin Desonier and husband Olin, Asheville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Beau Whatley, Alec Whatley, Rachael Colvin and Rebecca Colvin; and numerous other beloved relatives. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Colvin Jr. and Rebecca Donovan Colvin. Pallbearers will be Alec Whatley, A. Hays Town, Hilary C. Poirrier, Ted Bauer, Trevor Casper and Chip Stirling. He was a graduate of LSU, and a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and St. James Episcopal Church vestry andBaton RougeCommunity College. Ann Lynn and Chick lived full and gifted lives. Ann Lynn painted, created treasured angels and taught convicts to read. Chick played golf, loved to fly and talk about flying. Married for 50 years, they loved to travel, play bridge, take Lagniappe courses and spend time together with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Colvin Scholarship for Art.
